~  LOCAL AREA ATTRACTIONS  ~

CRAIGVILLE BEACH

Enjoy the best of everything that Cape Cod has to offer. Our inn is located just 1/2 mile (a short stroll) from world famous Craigville Beach. You can enjoy bathing in the warm waters of Nantucket Sound, sunbathing on the beautiful beach, walking along the lovely shoreline,or just reading a good book.

HYANNIS

Hyannis is the "Hub of Cape Cod".  The inner harbor is located just four miles from our motel.  Here you will find the ferry boats that sail to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.  The Cape Cod Mall is located here, and many lovely shops, and restaurants.  Here you will find the John F. Kennedy Museum and The Kennedy Memorial. A great attraction in our area is The Melody Tent, an open air theater.            Click here for Melody Tent information

NANTUCKET AND MARTHA'S VINEYARD

The islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are located approximately 20 miles from Hyannis.  Once you visit Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard, there are bus tours that are available. Both islands are extremely interesting.

WHALE WATCHING

Hyannis Whale Watch has the nearest whale watching boat.  From our motel, it is located just 5 miles away at Barnstable Harbor.

Should you visit Provincetown while on Cape Cod, we recommend the
Dolphin Fleet boats.  They are the group that sends scientists all over the world to help whales in distress. They send a scientist out on every whale-watching trip to answer any
questions you may have!

CAPE COD CENTRAL RAILROAD

One of our favorite pastimes is to spend a few hours enjoying some of the Cape's splendid scenery from the Cape Cod Central Railroad. Whether you are a railroad buff or merely want a wonderful way to see some of Cape Cod at its best, we recommend you go "All Aboard!" the Scenic Railroad.  In the evening, the    railroad operates an elegant dinner train   that has been rated one of the top three in the country by the Food TV Network.  It is a positively marvelous and unique dining experience.

BOATING ON NANTUCKET SOUND,
from the Ocean Street docks in Hyannis

Come aboard the 50' R/V Tiger Shark for a unique "hands on" look at the marine wildlife of Nantucket Sound. Behind the wheel is the famous Captain Mike and on the deck is a well seasoned and experienced crew.

Enjoy an afternoon chartering a sail boat or fishing boat out of Hyannis.  There is no better way to enjoy the warm water of Nantucket Sound than from the deck of a boat.

Make sure that you visit the inner harbor in Hyannis, where you can talk with the local charter boat captains and observe the working fishing boat fleet.

Here I am with my son Ted and his friend Marcy Egan.  We had just returned from a successful morning of fishing on Nantucket Sound.  Our skipper was Captain Gary Brown, a town counselor and "the best damn striper fisherman on Cape Cod"
